THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER

Last weekend was bloody lovely! I spent Saturday styling and art directing a sci fi themed photoshoot - I was working with some fab designer pieces and the team was great so I can't wait to show you the finished images! I had a quiet night in with Matt that evening, watching Green Wing and editing photos, then on Sunday morning the weather was so beautiful that we decided to go to Springfield Park for a picnic!

These photos were taken by the canal in Clapton - I was wearing vintage high waist shorts with a Cure tee that I bought from a vintage shop in Southampton YEARS ago. I really should update my t-shirt collection.

After our picnic we went for a walk before I headed to Meroretro for a little blogger's event organised by the lovely Julia of Stylonylon. It was a wonderful afternoon, I will be sure to get some photos up for you soon. Have a great weekend everyone!

CHRISTMAS DAY | 2014

This Christmas has been wonderful. Following our fantastic trip to Copenhagen, (rain and all), Matt and I travelled down to Devon where my family live and we've spent the last few days eating, drinking, relaxing, playing games, watching films, walking the dog and generally having a Christmassy time.

Christmas Eve is always my favourite part of the festive holiday; it's exciting and in our home we always have roast dinner on the evening of the 24th rather than the 25th so that it's more relaxed. This year my friend Ria popped over for a catch up and to exchange presents too... she's nearly 6 months pregnant and is looking so well! After dinner we'll usually play some board games before watching a film and putting my younger sister to bed. This time we all sat down to watch The Snowman.

Christmas day was lovely as always; we spent the morning opening presents then went to my Auntie's for a couple of hours in the afternoon. I wore my new Farhi by Nicole Farhi roll neck, which is so snuggly! You can treat yourself to 10% off on orders over £100 at Repertoire Fashion at the moment by using the discount code FASHIONSEAT10.... the code lasts until 20th January; enjoy!

Matt and I also went for a late afternoon walk as the sun was setting, which was really pretty. Some of my favourite presents received were my Dot by Marc Jacobs perfume and an amazing selection of books; Not that Kind of Girl, Bob Mazzer: Underground and The Wes Anderson Collection. I'll show you these in more detail when I manage to sit down and look through them properly. Matt also bought me a beautiful Cos dress, (though I may have to exchange it for another size, booo), and a film camera. I also went to see my Dad and more family today and he gave me a sparkly new Olympus Camera to use for blogging! Feeling well and truly spoiled!

I hope you're all having a fabulous holiday. Where did you spend you Christmas and what were your favourite presents?

Copenhagen at Christmas

Last year Matt and I went to Copenhagen just before Christmas and we loved it so much that we decided to go again. This time my Mum came with us too! Flights were pretty cheap, about £90 return each, and we stayed in a gorgeous Airbnb apartment in our favourite neighbourhood, Nørrebro.

We spent our first evening wandering around Tivoli, which is an amusement park right in the middle of the city centre. Obviously it's quite touristy and you do have to pay 110DKK to get in, (which is around £11), but at Christmas they fill the park with Christmas lights, decorations and music - it's so beautiful and a great way to get into the festive spirit! We ended our night at Cafe Plenum which is a cosy cocktail bar in Nørrebro.

The next day we went to the Botanical gardens then Nyhavn before heading to Strøget to do some serious Christmas shopping. We were pretty exhausted by the end of the day so walked back to Nørrebro and treated ourselves to dinner at Provins, a lovely new restaurant that serves traditional Danish food. The staff were super nice and helpful and the food was delicious!

It's always a bit of a pain packing for somewhere chilly as warm clothing tends to be bulky and take up a lot of suitcase space! I tend to stick to a few basics like a roll neck and a couple of cosy jumpers, (one of which I can wear on the plane anyway), then I also pack a lightweight waterproof jacket in the bottom of my bag just in case it pours with rain; like it did the first time I went to Denmark! This time I lived in my new jumper from New Look. It's really cosy and can be worn with jeans or, because it's quite loose, it also looks good over a skirt or dress.

As always the trip didn't feel long enough and I was sad to return to London, but hey, I'm in Devon now having a fabulous time with my family in the lead up to the big day. I'm really enjoying the down-time and looking forward to a fresh New Year. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!
