BRAND | BIRD ON A WIRE VINTAGE

You may or may not have noticed a new banner appear on my blog recently --> Bird on a Wire Vintage are a new sponsor of Fashion your Seatbelts, (yay!), and I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to them, just in case you hadn't stumbled across them on your own already that is! They sell a fab selection of affordable vintage, and they're London based, so that's pretty cool! Here I'm wearing a lovely heart blouse, which they kindly sent to me, I've matched it with a simple pair of denim shorts and my new sandals!

Let Yourself Glow!

Yes, this vintage necklace from the 1960's is so pretty and iridescent that it GLOWS, but one might ask, how do I actually wear this pretty vintage necklace in 2015? There are actually many ways you can wear it if you keep an open mind.
{1960's Vintage Moonglow Necklace can be found at The Canny Canary}

When I first look at this necklace I automatically think, dress up.
Below you will find a few really cute modern dresses from Nordstrom that would actually work really well with this vintage necklace
{Leith}
{Cream and Sugar}

{Ted Baker London}

But, if you are like me you might not dress up every single day. See how I wore this 1960's vintage moonglow necklace in the photo's below. As you can see, my outfit really only consists of two elements: A simple white blouse and a pair of boyfriend jeans from TALBOTS

Summer Time is Fun Time

When I was young, summer was nothing but pure fun......

Laying by my boyfriend's pool and jumping in when we got hot was the only way of life that we knew. 90's tunes blared on the boom box that we covered with a beach towel so it wouldn't get too hot and over heat. We went for long walks and just talked. We had no were to go and no responsibilities. As much as I love my life now, I wish I could just go back in time for a day, even two, and just relive the past. But I know that I will never be able to, and there is a reason for that. God knows I wouldn't want to come back. Is anyone else with me here?

Today I am lucky enough to be wearing this fantastic 70's Vintage Amber Stone Sarah Coventry Statement Necklace that I found at The Canny Canary. I love the simulated citrine stone which is actually my son's birthstone. He was born on November 11, 1996 and he is a Scorpio. I am a Leo. My husband is Cancer. You can imagine the dynamics.

How I Wore The Vintage Trifari Pearl and Rhinestone Gold Flower Necklace

I have worn this vintage Trifari necklace a handful of times and each time I wear it, I get a feeling of peace and tranquility. Maybe it's the mystery of the past that this vintage piece holds.
Maybe it's just me.

One of the many reasons why I adore unique vintage jewelry is for the feeling it gives me.

 Vintage is as unique as the person who wears it. You most definitely won't see someone walking down the street wearing the same piece.

My gold cuff is vintage Monet. Cuffs look so cool in the summer. They really show up well when worn with sleeveless or short sleeve tops.

My Kilim Cardigan

What is it about this new Kilim Diamond-Tapestry Cardigan from TALBOTS that made me immediately think, MUST HAVE?

First of all, this kilim print is classic but sort of has a modern and edgy look to it. That was my first initial thought. Then I felt the fabric. An extremely soft and light cotton and linen. Whenever I can wear something that is made of natural fibers, I do. There is nothing like looking cool and feeling great at the same time!

And of course I managed to incorporate something vintage into my look as always. Find my pretty 1960's vintage white seed bead necklace at The Canny Canary by clicking HERE. As always, there is only one available.
Gotta love unique vintage jewels!

What does the color green mean?

Life
Renewal
Nature
Energy
Growth
Harmony
Freshness
Safety
Fertility
Environment

After the long winter we had in Maine, it stands to reason why green is my new favorite color.
It feels so good to look outside and see green grass and green trees for miles and miles.
I consider myself lucky to be able to live in peace and have gratitude for every day that I am alive and  well. I wanted to show you that I scratched out the "and well" part instead of just deleting it. Because that brings me to my next thought.......

If I was not well, if I was sick or going through some tough times (which we all are. For life isn't always as perfect as it appears on the outside), I would still consider myself lucky to be able to live in peace and I would still have gratitude for every day. Somewhere out there, there is someone who is suffering and yet somehow they find the strength inside themselves to keep living, because they have gratitude and they have an appreciation for life and the gift that it truly is. It might be the person that you are sitting next to on the bus, or the person working at the drive through that you snapped at this morning.

Think green every day and I guarantee everything will be okay.
