DON'T BE CROSS

I was recently sent this super cool "cross design" ring from Emi Jewellery. I actually lost it for a while before I could shoot it and show you - eek - but I found it at again the other day.... phew! Also, this delightful little tartan skirt is from In Love with Fashion.

I don't know about you guys but I'm really struggling to settle back into a daily routine of work, food, sleep, work, food, sleep, work, food, sleep, blah blah blah, after my lovely, relaxing break over Christmas. I'm super tired, can't seem to find time to do ANYTHING on my endless to-do list, and I'm basically just looking forward to summer now! Luckily my time is filled with nice things to keep me going through the dreary winter months... wonderful blog events, the thought of upcoming fashion week, my handsome boyfriend, the television series 'Girls', (who's been watching?), and the fun shoots I do over the weekends. Ah, come to think of it, life's not that bad ;)

Hope you've all had a great weekend!

GREY TIGHTS

Today I had a super relaxing morning before taking a leisurely stroll to Dalston in search of a new shirt. Sometimes I just need a break from public transport, I spend far too much time on the underground so when I have the opportunity I enjoy wandering the city, (usually with Matt), discovering hidden streets, seeing new things and fully appreciating London.

My first point of call was Beyond Retro where I bought a striped shirt that reminds me of something my step dad used to wear when he met my Mum back in 1994 - I will try to shoot it for you next weekend so you can see! I also tried on two gorgeous pairs of checked trousers but they weren't perfect so I sadly left them behind before jumping on the bus to Shoreditch where I bought two blouses for future photoshoots.

A. SAUVAGE @ LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN

Last week saw the debut catwalk presentation of British menswear designer A. Sauvage. Held at The Old Sorting Office on the final evening of London Collections: Men, the collection featured jumpers, statement collars and tailoring in a palette of black and grey - teal and purple also featured as key colours. Tartan, alongside Sauvage's signature eccentric prints, also made an appearance on shirts, ankle skimming trousers and suit jackets.

I was lucky enough to attend and sat amongst the likes of George Lamb and David Gandy to watch the beautifully choreographed show. Unfortunately the camera I was using decided to throw a hissy fit just before I got into the venue so I didn't get any photographs myself, (shit happens), but you can see my favourite pieces from the collection below, and the full show here.

AN AFTERNOON IN CROUCH END

On Sunday I had a day in London to relax, (AKA a day to do some washing and re-pack), before flying to Scotland for New Year's Eve. I decided to pop into Crouch End for lunch and ended up going to a lovely family run café/bakery called Coffee Cake, a great place to visit if you like healthy eating and unique, tasty combinations! I had a prune and feta cheese tart with a side of aubergine salad and a blackberry and nettle tea. Yum.

I wore my favourite tartan shorts, which I picked up about a month ago down Brick Lane, along with a cashmere jumper and my Dr. Martens shoes. Normally instinct would have me wearing a black collared shirt underneath this jumper, but I love the contrast of the white against the black, and it also adds a fun "school uniform" twist to the ensemble! The bag I'm carrying was a gift from my Auntie for Christmas and is from H&M. (I love simple, black bags because they go with most outfits and look so minimal)!

I'm currently still in Scotland, Matt and I are flying back tomorrow.... I can't wait to show you all of the photos! Although I am looking forward to my own bed and having my wardrobe back, I'm a little sad about returning to normal life and reality after the wonderful two weeks I've just had off.

NEW YEAR, NEW GLASSES

Some of you may have already noticed, but I was recently gifted a new pair of glasses from Swag & Stare! If you haven't previously heard of them and are a glasses wearer then please do check out their site, they have such a cool collection of beautiful, vintage inspired frames! My old, cats-eye style were actually from Swag and Stare to! This time though, I went for something completely different and got a very light pink, rounded pair.

These photographs were taken on my last day in Devon over Christmas, over the weekend I had two nights at home in London before jumping on a plane to Aberdeen where I'm currently spending the week! Last night to celebrate the new year we went into Stonehaven town centre to watch a truly unique "fireball" display in which locals competed by swinging handmade balls of fire for about 20 minutes as they walked up and down the high street - sorry, I'm terrible at explaining things but it was essentially a parade with fire....? I was stood right at the front so did worry about loosing my eyebrows a few times - I will get some photos up for you when I'm home!

After the fireballs, which you can read more about here if you're interested, we watched a beautiful firework display before heading home rather hurriedly to get into the warm! I hope you all had a fab new year's eve, got to celebrate with your loved ones, and are looking forward to 2014! I would really love to share my new year's resolutions with you but I'm afraid I'm still deciding on them.... there are far too many things that I want to do with my life so feel I should narrow them down a little so I at least have half a chance at succeeding by 2015! Bare with me....
