6 Beauty Moments We Loved This Weekend at the Fall 2015 Shows

With dark brunette making an early bid for the hair-color-of-the-season, and a front row family hair-off stealing our hearts (thank you, Beckham clan), the weekend’s most memorable beauty moments can only be a sign of more good things to come. Here, we celebrate the best makeup, hair, and fragrance of the past 72 hours.

Brunettes Make a Comeback
Platinum blondes have sparked their fair share of excitement over the past few seasons, with icy shades of flaxen getting a lot of play on the runway. But if designer Alexander Wang has anything to say about it, things may be about to get moodier for fall. Backstage hairstylist Guido Palau worked in tandem with his colorist-in-crime, Victoria Hunter, to take a handful of models—including the formerly golden-haired Ashleigh Good—to the dark side for Wang’s goth-inspired show.

Hood by Air’s Scented Show Space
For his fall show this weekend, designer Shayne Oliver enlisted the scenting services of the L.A.-based fragrance brand, Régime des Fleurs, which scented the runway—and 100 VIP invitations (shown)—with its smoky, oud-heavy perfume, Fauna. At the very least, the partnership will take the guesswork out of which perfume to layer with your oversize Hood by Air fur.

Suno’s Graphic Hair Accessories
Between the glittering pink headbands at Honor and the brown leather ponytail pins at Derek Lam, there have been more than a few moments of hair adornment inspiration backstage. Topping our list of favorites: Suno’s ivory and tortoiseshell barrettes, which French coiffeuse Odile Gilbert fastened over the free-form loops she was creating by folding the lengths of the hair underneath themselves for a fresh take on the modern updo. Rest assured, the clip—along with more than a few runway looks from designers Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty’s heavy-on-the-stripes-and-prints collection—is already on our fall shopping list.

The Beckham Brood—And Their Front Row Hair
Kanye, Kim, and baby North’s arrival at Alexander Wang on Saturday may have generated the most celebrity headlines this weekend, but we’d venture to say that the Beckham family edged them out by a hair when it comes to best front-row cameo. Make that many hairs. Seated next to their father, David, at mom Victoria’s collection this morning, the couple's three sons—Romeo, Brooklyn, and Cruz—proved that they inherited their famous father’s knack for expert coiffing, with their matching, perfectly styled quiffs. But it was three-year-old Harper’s long, center-parted mane that really stole the show.

The Return of Pretty at Thakoon
Another refreshing runway evolution: the return of pretty hair and makeup—no graphic bells or androgynous whistles necessary. Makeup artist Tom Pecheux presented a compelling case for embracing your femininity with pastel lids backstage at Altuzarra; at Thakoon, Diane Kendal conjured a molten pink effect (inspired by the aurora borealis) using a series of multitasking NARS blushes and bronzers on the lids, while hair took a turn for the smooth, healthy, and perfectly parted (shown).

Super Sightings at Prabal Gurung
Just when it seemed as though fashion’s most recognizable faces may be in winter hibernation, Prabal Gurung hosted the first major model moment of the season. Kirsty Hume, Hilary Rhoda, Tasha Tilberg, and Frankie Rayder were among the big-name beauties Gurung tapped for his fall show. Also making a rare runway appearance: Brazilian stunner Caroline Trentini, who was looking blonde, sun-kissed, and decidedly bombshell-esque in spite of the day’s dipping temperatures.
